That being the case, the idea that one of them (drawing or model) can replace the other, is an unfounded idea, baseless.
Though it is a common thread in today’s standard BIM rhetoric, it’s incoherent. On the surface, it looks like it has the structure of a (reasonable) sentence:
“Models will replace drawings.”
But look at the first sentence above in [[double square brackets]], Then you see this:
“Models will replace techniques people use to understand models.”
Now you see that the sentence is gibberish.
Models have transformed drastically, from imaginary and physical models, to digital models. Drawing, likewise, is going to evolve, not disappear.
